The Journey Begins

Hey family and friends,

I would like to share with you a great opportunity that God has brought my way for this summer. I will be serving Christ through the Chicago Eagles Summer Academy. The Eagles are the Midwest division of Missionary Athletes International (MAI), a non-profit, interdenominational sports ministry. The goal of the Chicago Eagles is to share the message of Jesus Christ through the environment of soccer. Plus, they’re committed to training athletes, like me in the disciplines of sports ministry so that I am living out my faith on and off the field. Throughout the summer, I will have the chance to share my faith in Christ through camp outreaches and clinic ministry to places, such as the inner city of Chicago and cities in Brazil.  By the end of the summer, I will be equipped with the tools to do great things for God back at my college campus.

As the majority of y’all know, I am finishing up my second year at CIU and through these two year God has taken me on an incredible journey. During my time here at CIU, I have not only deepen my love for soccer but God has given it new purpose. Through my soccer team, my coach, and my professors God has shown me how my love for soccer can be a mission field for him. Currently I am double majoring in Bible and Sport Management, and also majoring in Teaching English as a foreign language. It is a strange combination but my hope is to one day be able to serve overseas through sports ministry. That is why I am so excited for this summer to see  what God has in store and how it will aid me for the future. God has given such an amazing opportunity that I pray will lead to opening more doors for His kingdom.

As a participant in the Eagles Academy, I will need to raise $3900 to cover my expenses. Would you consider partnering with me in this dynamic summer mission project through a financial contribution?
